Lived Between: 1632-1723

Nationality: British

Primary Occupation: Physician, Astronomer, and Architect

Claim to Fame: According to the history books, Sir Christopher Wren discovered Saturn's rings before Christiann Huygens, but did not publish his findings before the Dutch Astronomer.  However, Wren did not seek fame, and had nothing but praise for Huygen's publication. Wren was also the first to resolve Kepler's Problem on cutting a semicircle in a given ratio by a line through a given point on its diameter. Wren is also responsible for incredible advances in the medical field, having done incredible research on the human brain.  Another important contribution by Wren was the designof over 50 of London's Churches, including St-Paul's Cathedral, which had to be rebuilt following the great fire of 1666.
