Claim to Fame: Nicolaus Copernicus is famous his heliocentric theory of the Heavens, in which he introduced the revolutionary, and controversial idea that the Earth and other planets were in orbit around the Sun, as opposed to being the center of the universe, as it had always been believed to be.
